COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) - Christmas is more than three months away, but one local neighborhood is getting into the holiday spirit a little early.
It's all for 2-year-old Brody Allen, who has a rare form of brain cancer.
Adair Court is all lit up for Brody. His cancer is so aggressive, he's not expected to live to Christmas, so neighbors and strangers are making sure he gets all the lights and holiday cheer he deserves.
"I showed him last night, and he's just like, 'Wow!' 'Ohh!' Called Santa Ho, Ho, Ho," said Brody's mother, Shilo Allen.
Santa was watching as Brody played with his brothers and sisters. He's the youngest of the six Allen children.
"Giving Brody a wish, and that is to have Christmas. He's not going to make it to Christmas, so we want to do it now," said Brody's father, Todd Allen.
Back in May, the family thought Brody had an ear infection, but after a series of tests, the Allens got the worst news possible.
"Children's Hospital informed us that he did not have an inner ear infection. Instead, he had four tumors," said Todd.
And another has grown since August.
Knowing he'll miss Christmas, Shilo turned to Facebook for some help, looking for Christmas decorations for Brody. And they're coming in fast.
"Christmas came early, and it's awesome to see everybody stepping up in the community. I came last night, and this was the only house lit up. I came today, and I was like, 'Wow. This is awesome,'" said Ryan Miller of Cincy Xmas Lights.
And on Tuesday afternoon, there was another delivery of Christmas decorations from a total stranger.
"It's just amazing. I mean, people are just amazing. She doesn't know us, and I can't explain it; I'm grateful," said Shilo.
And while he may not now fully understand all of this, Brody is excited about all the lights.
